Videos of Two Worthwhile Programs on AI

I want to share videos of two excellent recent programs on applications of AI in education and practice.

The AALS Section on Clinical Legal Education sponsored a program on February 13, Integrating AI into Transactional Clinics: Tools & Strategies Workshop.  Although it focused specifically on transactional clinics, much of it is relevant to other clinics and non-clinical courses.

It explored concrete, practice-oriented ways transactional law clinic faculty can incorporate artificial intelligence into both teaching and client work.  Presenters reviewed key AI tools, their pros and cons, and real-world use cases that advance pedagogical goals (e.g., creating interview simulations, drafting case studies, designing exercises) and lawyering efficiencies (e.g., synthesizing readings, drafting summaries, preparing community presentations).  They also touched on ethics and professionalism concerns, emerging trends, and helpful resources for continued learning.  The program featured several short presentations from clinicians who are currently using AI in their clinics, followed by an open discussion where audience members shared how they are experimenting with and implementing AI tools in their own programs.

The Quinnipiac University School of Law Center on Dispute Resolution and Yale’s Arthur Liman Center for Public Interest Law co-sponsored a presentation today by Dr. Nadia Ahmad, Smart Resolutions: Exploring the Role of AI in Alternative Dispute Resolution.  Dr. Ahmad is an Assistant Professor at Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University, in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.  I played a cameo as an inquisitor.

The presentation focused primarily on AI in arbitration, and it analyzed benefits and risks.  The recording started shortly after the beginning of the presentation, so you pick it up in progress.

Take a look.
