Young Scholar Program

The ABA Dispute Resolution annual conference is coming up in a few months, and the Section would like to see as many law students and young professionals attend as possible. With that in mind, last year the Section started a Young Scholar Program. Those selected for the program will receive a $25 registration fee; the opportunity to interact with panelists and Section leaders; and an opportunity to publish during the conference. Applications are due no later than February 18, 2019. Here is the link for applications, and the informative flyer is available here.

When and where is the conference?

The Spring Conference will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota from April 10-13, 2019.

What will the Young Scholars do at the conference?

Selected Scholars will be invited to attend the Spring Conference and assigned to at least one session, they will have the opportunity to interact with the session panelists prior to the Conference and provide logistical assistance as requested.  During the Conference, the Scholar will be required to attend the session, participate as requested, keep notes of the session, and afterwards write a 200-350 word essay describing the session, audience participation and reactions.  These essays will be posted on the Conference app, and will be posted as blog posts on the Section’s website.
