The Arbitration Fairness Act’s Sponsor

Ron Johnson defeated Russ Feingold in Wisconsin earlier this week.  Feingold had been the sponsor of the Arbitration Fairness Act for years.

I’ve now spent (read: wasted) a good amount of time on the web, trying to figure out what Ron Johnson’s position might be on the AFA and other ADR-related measures.  I have some assumptions about where he likely comes out, but I am reliably mediocre at guessing political positions related to ADR.  Ron’s site is silent on the matter, unless he eventually gets to his stand on the AFA later in his promotional video than I cared to sit through.  Wikipedia had little to say on the issue.  Google generously invited me to explore a number of Tea Party websites.  And some of my search results yielded unarguably bizarre–even from a non-partisan perspective–web pages.  (For example, I was offered links to obituary listings, family counseling services, and no shortage of sites in which clothing is apparently optional.)

Perhaps someone from the great state of Wisconsin can give the rest of us a preview?

  1. I would assume, though perhaps wrongly, that any future Arbitration Fairness Act will not be sponsored by a Senator from Wisconsin unless Senator Kohl decides to carry the charge. Senator Johnson’s tag line was Wisconsin is now open for business so I don’t see that being consistent with the Act. For the record, I’ll miss Feingold 🙁
