The editors of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution, in coordination with their partners at the Divided Community Project, SLS and HNMCP asked me to share the following Announcement regarding the Journal’s 2022 Symposium Series on Collaborative Race Equity Initiatives.

The Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution, in partnership with The Ohio State University’s Divided Community Project, the Harvard Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program, and Stanford Law School’s Gould Center for Conflict Resolution, is pleased to invite you to join an interactive symposium series focused on collaborative race equity initiatives:

– Gould will host an event February 25, 2022.
– On Friday March 11, 2022, a day-long event will take place at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
– HNMCP will host a third event on April 8, 2022.

All events will include an online component and will be open to the public. For the latest information about this symposium please complete this short survey.

Race and racial equity are at the forefront of social and political discussions. Cities, states, and communities are now pushing to design and launch processes for surfacing histories and lived experiences around systemic racism, moving towards reconciliation on the community, legal, and policy levels. The symposium series will explore the multi-layered racial equity initiatives thus emerging across the country, while also tackling challenging design questions and practical barriers for collaborative efforts addressing truth, action, reconciliation, action, and healing.

The symposium series will feature national and international practitioners, academics, activists, and other stakeholders to share experiences, challenges, resources, and strategies to tackle these difficult issues. Symposium contributions will be subsequently published in a double symposium issue of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution.
