. . . the University of La Verne College of Law. The 9th Circuit’s Fall ADR newsletter states:
In a letter informing the law school of the award, Chief District Judge Ricardo S. Martinez of the Western District of Washington, who chairs the Ninth Circuit ADR Committee, praised the faculty for “developing a curriculum that integrates ADR across the spectrum of students’ coursework.” The law school’s advanced courses “provide an excellent opportunity for those interested in pursuing careers in alternative dispute resolution fields,” he said.
In his letter, Judge Martinez also applauded the college’s emphasis on teaching about ethical issues. He singled Associate Dean Susan Exon, a renowned ADR expert who speaks and writes frequently on the topic, for publication of her textbook “Advanced Guide for Mediators.” The book “significantly adds to the scholarship” in the field, Judge Martinez wrote.
Congrats to everyone at LaVerne, especially FOI Susan Nauss Exon who the committee singled out for excellence. Here is La Verne’s announcement of the award.
Congratulations to La Verne and especially to Susan!!
