David Moora – Director of the ABA Dispute Resolution Section

The news came out today that David Moora was appointed Director of the ABA Dispute Resolution Section.  David has been a staff attorney for the section since 2006 and has a great working knowledge of the Section.  Congratulations David !!

The announcement from Section President Wayne Thorpe is below.  And, I second his shout out to Gina Brown.

I am happy to announce that the ABA has named David Moora as the new Director for the Section of Dispute Resolution.  As most of you know, David has worked on the Section staff as Staff Attorney since fall 2006.  He is thoroughly knowledgeable about the Section’s numerous and varied activities and programs, and he has participated as the principal staff person in many of them.  Among his duties have been staffing the Task Force on Mediation Quality, the Policy Development Task Force, the Ethics Committee efforts in developing the National Clearinghouse for Mediator Ethics Opinions and the current Mediation Committee’s National Mediation Month Initiative.   You may have also worked with David on a project from one of the numerous committees he has staffed including the Committee on Mediator Ethical Guidance, the Ethics, Mediation, Arbitration and ADR in Law Schools committees to name a few.

We are grateful to all of our wonderful staff for their efforts during the period of the search for a new Director, and we are especially thankful to Gina Brown for her tremendous efforts as Acting Director.

  1. Congratulations to David and to the Section for having the good sense to select him. Also, there is a lesson here about internships, as David started as an intern with the Section.
