The Great Cilantro Debate

While the subject of cilantro has virtually no connection to alternative dispute resolution, I am thrilled that the New York Times has recognized (here) that it is not my fault that cilantro tastes like hazardous waste to me.  I have spent many a meal arguing (ahh, there is the ADR connection) with fellow diners about my revulsion to cilantro, and my self-identification as a “super taster.”  Clearly, the chemical reaction that takes place in my mouth whenever I ingest cilantro must not be replicated in the mouths of those who devour dishes that include cilantro, otherwise they wouldn’t eat those dishes.  From now on, I will — with pleasure — pull out the Times article to resolve any future disputes I have with friends, family and colleagues regarding the horrors of cilantro.
