The Negotiation Journal’s Rebirth

Regular readers will remember that a little over a year ago Carrie Menkel-Meadow (UC-Irvine) warned us that the Negotiation Journal was in crisis, and its demise was a real possibility.  Today she announced that it survived and has come out on the other side.  It is now an open access journal hosted by MIT and PON.  Talk about a huge relief and a big win for the field.  Big thanks to Carrie, James Sebenius (Harvard B-School), and our friends at PON Silvia Glick and Lara SanPietro.  For your convenience, Carrie’s email making the announcement is below as is Lara’s follow-up message, both of which contain submission information.

Thanks to many of you for responding to our queries about the Negotiation Journal(formerly published by Wiley and Harvard’s PON).  We are happy to announce that the Negotiation Journal is now an open access journal published by MIT Press and PON.

Issue Vol 40 (1) and (2) is now available here.

Information for how to submit articles is available there. Many good articles now available to read in this new issue.

We look forward to your continued submissions and readership. The current editor in chief is James Sebenius, Harvard Business School and PON and the Managing Editor is Silvia Glick, available here for your inquiries:  sglick@harvard.edu.

Have a good new semester.

Carrie Menkel-Meadow, Associate Editor – Negotiation Journal

Hello All,

I just wanted to follow up on Carrie’s email about the Negotiation Journal now being open access: in addition to the newest issue which was just published, you can also read nearly all of the older issues of the Negotiation Journal for free as well. Check it out at: https://direct.mit.edu/ngtn

A big thank you to Silvia for steering this process! One minor correction: Silvia’s email is SGlick@law.harvard.edu. Please do not hesitate to reach out to her or PON with any questions or to submit articles.

Sincerely,

Lara SanPietro, Associate Director of Research and Pedagogy, Program on Negotiation | Harvard Law School
