Call for Proposals – ABA DR Conference

From FOI Rishi Batra: A quick reminder from the Legal Education in Dispute Resolution Committee of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution that Program Proposals for the Spring Conference (April 10-13, 2019, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Minneapolis, MN) are due by August 31, 2018. This includes proposals for the Legal Educators Colloquium (LEC) on Saturday of the conference. A couple of updates to the process from previous year’s submissions:

1) This year the conference committee will be putting greater emphasis on the theme of this year’s conference, which is “Shining the Light on Parties: Enhancing the Experience of ADR Users”. It will increase the chances of your program being selected if your program fits the conference theme.

2) The Conference Standing Committee has solicited ideas for proposals from the other individual committees on potential topics to be addressed. Thanks to those of you who helped us select some potential topics. You can see the list of potential topics here. Many of the topics relating to legal education are at the end of the document. Addressing a proposed topic area may increase your chances of having your proposal selected. Of course, topics not on that list will definitely be considered as well.

We hope that many of you choose to submit a proposal as you have in previous years. You can learn more about submitting a proposal this year here. Please contact one of the co-chairs of the Legal Education Committee (Rishi Batra, Jennifer Reynolds, or Rae Kyritsi) with any questions.
