Winner of AALS ADR Section Best Article of 2017 Award

The AALS Section on Alternative Dispute Resolution is delighted to announce the winner of this year’s (inaugural) award for best scholarly article published in print or online in the previous year in the field of ADR. The Committee received a tremendous number of nominations of extremely high-quality articles, making the decision very difficult.  The Section’s 2018 Executive Committee considered several criteria in selecting the winner, including:

  • The relevance of the work to the field of dispute resolution;
  • The degree of contribution of the work to the field of dispute resolution;
  • The originality and quality of the research reflected in the work; and
  • The quality and clarity of the writing.

The Best Article of 2017 is: Ellen Deason, Beyond “Managerial Judges”: Appropriate Roles in Settlement, 78 Ohio St. L.J. 73, 113-118 (2017).

You can read the fantastic article here: http://www.ohiostatelawjournal.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/78.1_Deason.pdf.

Congratulations to Professor Deason, of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law! The AALS ADR Section will present her with a certificate acknowledging her well-deserved award at the Fall 2018 AALS Works-in-Progress Conference (October 4-6, at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law).
