Hello Folks,

Our Eighth Annual International Cyber-conference will soon be here.  Wednesday April 11 at Noon to 2:30 pm (Pacific time).  Be sure to adjust for your local time and place on the globe.

As usual, we expect a large number of universities and community organizations participating in the conference.  (We have addressed some IT technical issues with previous conferences so that all universities and organizations will have live mics.  Every audience will be able to speak to every other audience at the respective participating institutions).  We expect a lively global interactive discussion.

This year our theme is “Veterans for Peace”.

We want this year’s conference to be a much needed counter-point to the glorification of war that one often sees in the mass media.

We are inviting veterans, including Indigenous veterans, from around the globe to share their experiences and knowledge so that students and others can grasp the brutal realities of war.  We want to tap the insights and experiences of veterans and those who support veterans. If you know of veterans or veteran organizations in your community please invite them as well.  And, as usual, please invite your students and colleagues, as usual.

The way the Cyber-conference works is that each site is a co-host of the event, so you can claim full credit at your local institution for hosting the Cyber-conference.   It’s the network that produces the event rather than one particular university or organization.

To participate –

At your home institution book the room and ask your IT support person to connect by email with the conference IT.   If you have technical connection questions, you can also email anytime.

In order to avoid connection problems, you must test the video conferencing connection at least a week in advance of the conference.

Please encourage your students, friends, and colleagues to attend this interactive event.  We are committed to providing an informal town-hall style discussion that is truly global in reach.  Come join colleagues from around the world.  All voices are welcome.
