The friends of Indisputably at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs asked me to pass along this very interesting opportunity to be a a visiting faculty member:

The Department of Law at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, directs an undergraduate Legal Studies Program.  We seek a current, full time faculty member at an American law school or undergraduate institution to fill a 10.5 month position as a visiting faculty member to teach, among other things, the Principles of Negotiation course.  Preference will be given to persons with experience developing and leading courses and programs in order to review and advise the Law Department on our existing course and to potentially expand our negotiations program, including training faculty, as well as teaching students.  This visiting position would be from July 2017 to May 2018.

The Visiting Professor Program is funded to allow the Air Force Academy to reimburse the sending institution the costs of the faculty member’s salary and benefits and pays costs of personal transportation and movement of household goods to Colorado Springs and back.  Housing is available on or off the Academy grounds, but is at the visiting faculty’s expense.  To ensure funding, an agreement should be achieved no later than September 30, 2016.

Teaching expectations are negotiable, but would likely involve two courses both fall and spring semesters, teaching sections of about 20 cadets.  Course topics are also negotiable, but would include the Principles of Negotiation course – one of the Air Force Academy’s most popular elective courses for juniors and seniors.
