Most of us saw John’s post a few days ago regarding the open position of Director of the ABA Dispute Resolution Section (here). For those who were wondering what happened to David Moora, the former Director, here is the announcement:
After serving as Director of the ABA Dispute Resolution Section for five years, David Moora recently announced that he is moving into a new role in the dispute resolution field. Specifically, David has taken a position with the Environmental Protection Agency in the Office of General Counsel, Alternative Dispute Resolution Law Office. The position is responsible for providing legal advice and counsel regarding the use of ADR. David will also develop trainings for EPA staff and provide neutral services, including convening and mediation, in support of negotiation and conciliation efforts. The position is housed in the EPA’s Conflict Prevention and Resolution Center, which is the EPA’s national office for ADR.
Gina Brown and Matthew Conger have been appointed to serve as Interim Co-Directors as the ABA searches for a new Section Director.
Congratulations to David for obtaining a wonderful new position in the ADR field. While I cannot speak for all, I am very appreciative of all of the hard work David did for the Section and all he has devoted to the field. It’s good to know he won’t be leaving DR.
And much gratitude to Gina and Matthew for stepping into this important role in the interim!
Thanks to everyone who has served to support our community.
Writing as the Chair-Elect of the Section, I also want to share my thanks and appreciation for all that David has done for the Section and the dispute resolution field. We are very pleased that he will continue to be in the field and look forward to working with him in his new and important role.
We are also extremely grateful to Gina and Matthew for agreeing to serve as the interim co-directors.
