International Dispute Resolution Resource Center Roster Sign-up

The following is from Professor Nancy Welsh, a FoI, and the Chair-Elect of the ABA Dispute Resolution Section:

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to you on behalf of the ABA Dispute Resolution Section.  Long active in supporting initiatives aimed at fostering the growth and quality of conflict resolution programs and education in the U.S., the Section has recently expanded its efforts in the international realm. With partnering organizations located here and abroad, the Section has: sent delegations to Thailand, Vietnam, and Cuba; organized and hosted a Dispute Resolution Conference at the Hague in 2007;  and organized and conducted a highly-successful Asia-Pacific International Mediation Summit in India in February 2015.  Summit attendees included: senior judges; community, court-connected and private commercial mediation providers; academics; and policy makers from throughout Asia and the U.S.  The Section also is monitoring arbitration-related and mediation-related UNCITRAL developments.

The Section seeks to build on these successes in the international realm by creating an International Dispute Resolution Resource Center.  Former Section Chair Geetha Ravindra will lead this initiative.  The Resource Center will be implemented in stages.  Initially, it will serve as a clearinghouse of information related to international mediation and arbitration.

This is where you come in.  The Resource Center seeks to develop a roster of U.S. dispute resolution academics and practitioners with an interest in participating in international initiatives.  If you have such an interest, you will find below a link to a survey requesting additional information from you.  I encourage you to get involved.
