Boskey Competition and Request for Judges

Dear all,  as I just sent out to our listserve as well, it is time to remind you of the Boskey Competition for two reasons–(a) I need your students to submit essays; and (b) I need you to judge!  Besides, you might be right now in the midst of grading the next competition winner as we speak.

This competition offers your students a chance to achieve both fame and fortune by writing a good essay pertaining to dispute resolution.  Please encourage your students who have written good papers this semester, or who write good papers next semester, to submit them to the competition.  The deadline for submission is June 14, 2013 so I will be reminding you of this opportunity again. Details of the competition can be found here

I am also soliciting volunteers among you to judge the competition.  If you agree to be a judge you will be asked to read two or three of the papers during the months of June or July.  We provide a grading sheet and you do need not provide detailed comments, so this is not terribly time consuming.  Judging is informative and even can be fun.  You will also be performing a service for the dispute resolution community as without sufficient volunteers we cannot run a good competition.  To volunteer, please send me an e-mail saying you are willing to judge for 2013.

Thank you in advance for your help in both publicizing the competition and helping to judge.  If you know of other professors or scholarly-oriented practitioners who you think would make good judges, please feel free to send them my way too.

Happy Grading (and Happy Holidays!)–Andrea
