Last week the Hastings Business Law Journal hosted a symposium titled “Mandatory Arbitration in Contracts of Adhesion: When Many Become One.” The conference, which considered the implications of the Supreme Court’s decision in AT&T Mobility v. Concepcion on consumer contracts of adhesion, featured a mix of scholars and practicing lawyers including Tom Stipanowich, Amy Schmitz, Charles Knapp, Bill Woodward, Amy Coll-Very, Chris Dolan, David Horton, and Amy Radon.
Tom presented on his new article “The Arbitration Fairness Index: Using a Public Rating System to Skirt the Legal Logjam and Promote Fairer and More Effective Arbitration of Employment and Consumer Disputes.” The article, forthcoming the Kansas Law Review, is now available for download on SSRN.
