Institute for Transnational Arbitration: First Annual Winter Forum in San Francisco – February 1-2, 2012

I am pleased to share this invitation from Susan Franck (Wash. & Lee):

I wish to draw your attention to the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA) and its First Annual Winter Forum in San Francisco. It is the first event of its kind that is designed to drawn together the synergies of serious scholars of international arbitration and practical insights. I hope that you consider coming to San Francisco in February to participate. More information about the Forum is available here: http://bit.ly/A4G2fv.

To entice you to attend, it may help to know that there will be critical works-in-progress presented in a traditional academic format with papers and commentary by: (1) Judge Charles Brower and Charles P. Rosenberg (Iran-US Claims Tribunal), (2) Jan Paulsson (Miami), (3) Irene Ten Cate (Columbia), (4) Andrea Bjorklund (UC-Davis), and (5) Epaminontas E. Triantafilou (Permanent Court of Arbitration). The luncheon keynote will involve a fireside chat with George Bermann (Columbia) who is the Rapporteur for the Restatement on International Arbitration. The afternoon events will conclude with an interactive exchange about hot topics in international arbitration including presentations by David Caron (Berkeley), Jack Coe (Pepperdine), Andrea Menaker (White & Case and formerly of the US Department of State NAFTA Claims Division), and Teresa Giovannini (Parter at Lalive in Geneva).

We hope that you will be able to join us for what is sure to be an intellectually stimulating and engaged discussion.
