Conflict Resolution Day

From Sharon Press at the Association for Conflict Resolution:
Hopefully many of you already know about Conflict Resolution Day which is an annual event sponsored by the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) to: promote awareness of mediation arbitration, conciliation and other creative, peaceful means of resolving conflict; promote the use of conflict resolution in schools, families, businesses, communities, governments and the legal system; recognize the significant contributions of (peaceful) conflict resolvers; and obtain national synergy by having celebrations happen across the country and around the world on the same day.

Conflict Resolution Day is always celebrated on the third Thursday in October – this year, October 15.  Events will be taking place around the world and ACR is sponsoring 2 contests – a video contest for higher ed students (college, law, grad…) and a poetry contest for grades 3 – 12.  I request your assistance in spreading the word and encouraging submissions.  For additional information visit www.acrnet.org/crday

I hope you will consider hosting an event at your school around conflict resolution day and if you do, please let me know (I chair ACR’s Conflict Resolution Day Committee).  I also am willing to discuss possible ideas for the day or answer questions.  You can respond via e-mail (spress01@GW.HAMLINE.EDU) or call me at 651/523-2356.
Thanks, Sharon Press
