First prize went to Andrea Yang from the Georgetown University Law Center for her paper entitled Ethics Codes for Mediator Conduct: Necessary But Still InsufficientHonorable Mention was awarded to Ari Fontecchio Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law for his paper Naming, Framing and Taming: Why Timing and Emotional Intelligence Really Matter in Crisis Intervention.

As a judge in this competition, I can say that I read some good papers, and I want to personally thank all who submitted papers – although I can’t do so because we judges have no idea whose papers we’re reading.  Those of you who are current law students, I want to encourage you to submit your papers in May when the next round of the competition begins.  Also I’d like to thank Professor Jean Sternlight at the UNLV Boyd School of Law for chairing the competition committee this year.
